The 2014 Pebble Beach Pro-Am continued under wet and windy conditions on Friday. Although the rain and wind made for less-than-ideal scoring conditions, a few players were still able to find some success. Jordan Spieth was among that group; the 20-year-old carded a 67 for the second straight day. That dropped him to 9-under for the tournament and into a tie for the 36-hole-lead with Jimmy Walker.

Unlike Thursday, when rain forced a 3-hour delay, the elements didn’t stop play on Friday. All the groups were able to get in a full second round, with some also being forced to finish their first rounds. Blustering winds made for very challenging conditions and only three players -- Spieth, Victor Dubuisson and Ryan Palmer -- shot better than a 68. Twenty one players shot a 67 or better on Thursday. With conditions the way they were, the second round was more about avoiding a crooked score than trying to go low. Spieth was able to do just that, shooting a 4-under 67 at Monterey Peninsula Country Club, the easiest of the three courses in the rotation. Walker didn’t go quite as low as Spieth, but managed a 3-under 69 at Spyglass Hill. Walker could have an advantage heading into the weekend, having played Spyglass Hill and Pebble Beach thus far. Walker will play Monterey Peninsula on Saturday.
Not all the players were able to navigate the second round as well as Spieth and Walker. Jason Day, for example, shot a 5-over 77 at Pebble Beach, dropping 79 spots down the leaderboard. Lucas Glover took an even bigger drop, falling 87 spots to 114th place after shooting a 6-over 78 at Pebble. Palmer was among those heading the opposite direction. His 66 at MPCC was the low round of the day and good enough to jump him 90 spots and into a tie for sixth place.
Hunter Mahan is one stroke off the lead at 8-under while Andrew Loupe, at 7-under, and Richard Lee, at 6-under, round out the top five. Here is a complete look at the leaderboard through two rounds.
