Jimmy Walker’s dream 2014 season continued on Sunday, as he bagged his third win in his last eight events and walked away with his second $1M-plus winner’s check in the past month.
AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am 2014 purse: Jimmy Walker’s huge money season continues
After playing without a win in 188 career starts, Jimmy Walker now has his third win this season and adds to his money list lead with another big $1M-plus payday.

Walker was a journeyman pro, bouncing back-and-forth between Tours and dealing with injury before winning his first event in 188 PGA Tour starts last October at the Frys.com Open. That victory earned him a $900,000 winner’s check, but as it was the first event of the new wraparound schedule, the win counted towards this season’s FedExCup points race and the earnings counted towards this year’s money list rankings (and also delivered a Masters berth). Walker backed up that victory in the fall series with his first ever $1 million winner’s check at the Sony Open, where he caught fire on Sunday to shoot 63 and storm past the field just a month ago.
The AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am pays out slightly more than the event over at Waialae, so this will be Walker’s biggest payday in a career that looks to be taking off at age 35. Walker will take home $1,188,000 of the total $6.6 million purse. That’s a $3,096,000 haul in just eight tournaments, which is more than a quarter of his now $11,705,387 in career earnings. It’s only the second month of the season, but the Baylor Bear now has a dominant perch atop the money list and FedExCup Standings. Last season, which was considered a breakout year for Walker, yielded just over $2.1 million over the entire year. He’s now shot past that number in just one month.
There are plenty of big-money events ahead, but Walker will almost certainly stay up in the top 10 of the FedExCup points list for the rest of the year. Here are the full payout amounts for those who played the full 72 holes:
