The Honda Classic has established itself as one of the best stops on the PGA Tour, especially early in the season. The event consistently draws a loaded field of the best in the world, which in turn means additional television coverage. That will be the case on Saturday with five hours of television coverage and multiple live streams.
2014 Honda Classic streaming: How to watch online, TV coverage and more
It’s not quite to the level of major championship coverage, but there will be extensive third-round coverage of the Honda Classic, both online and on television.

Through two rounds, the event hasn’t quite led up to its billing with two of the top five players in the world -- Phil Mickelson and Henrik Stenson -- failing to make the cut. Tiger Woods is 11 strokes off the lead at even par, and Adam Scott is eight back at 3-under, so we’re not likely to get a battle of No. 1 vs. No. 2.
That doesn’t mean the event lacks star power or intrigue. Instead of a battle of the best in the world, the Honda Classic may turn into the return of Rory McIlroy. The former No. 1 player in the world is the 36-hole leader and in position to win his first PGA Tour event since September of 2012. He holds a one-stroke lead heading into the weekend. The top of the leaderboard has begun to separate from the field with just eight players within five strokes of the lead.
A solid Saturday could move McIlroy 18 holes from the winner’s circle, and viewers have multiple options to watch all of the action. Television coverage is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET on Golf Channel, where it remains until 3 p.m. Coverage then shifts to NBC for the final three hours of the broadcast. In addition to the late coverage, Golf Channel will have additional coverage of the Bear Trap (No. 15, 16 and 17) from 3 to 5 p.m.
McIlroy isn’t scheduled to tee off until 1:35 p.m., so his entire round will fall during the broadcast window. Every player who enters the third round at 6-under or better will tee off after television coverage has begun. In addition to watching on TV, viewers are able to watch the broadcast online, via a live simulcast from Golf Live Extra. The simulcast runs from 1 to 6 p.m.
Woods tees off in the early morning and he will likely be done with his round by the time the TV cameras turn on. Viewers will have a chance a glimpse of Woods and the rest of the field with a featured hole stream from PGATour.com. The stream will cover No. 3, 15 and 18. There will also be radio coverage from PGA Tour Network from 12 to 6 p.m.
