The Tampa Bay Championship is no more, with Valspar, a paint company, taking over title sponsorship for this year, the first of a four-year deal. But this is the 25th year that Tampa and the Copperhead course at Innisbrook have hosted a PGA Tour event -- those events have just varied in scope and scheduling. The Valspar Championship gets a bit of a tough draw sandwiched in between some higher-profile Florida swing events, but it still attracts a pretty solid field as players work their way into Masters shape.
How to watch 2014 Valspar Championship online, TV schedule and more
The Florida swing continues in Tampa, where Golf Channel will have coverage of the first round Thursday afternoon.

Golf Channel and NBC will continue their Florida swing coverage this week as CBS turns to their regular March Madness stretch before the Masters. The cable side of the Comcast golf duo will have the full broadcast on Thursday during the usual first round 3 to 6 p.m. timeslot. Rich Lerner and Frank Nobilo will have the call for the first two rounds before Johnny Miller arrives on the scene for the weekend. A streaming simulcast of the TV coverage will also be up and running via GolfChannel.
Jason Dufner, Justin Rose, Matt Kuchar, Webb Simpson, and Ernie Els are a few of the bigger names who will be out in the afternoon on Thursday, so expect to see most of their shots from start to finish during the broadcast window. The Tampa stop might not get Tiger or Phil, but it’s still an above-average field. Here are your media options for the opening round:
