Victor Dubuisson gets his own cactus-stamped wedges at WGC-Cadillac Championship

We’re used to seeing all sorts of unique wedge stamping these days, but this one is actually pretty cool.

Stuart Franklin

It seems a little-known Frenchman named Victor Dubuisson suddenly holds the the golf world in his hand, and rightfully so. Dubuisson, a quiet guy whose look vacillates from musketeer to Jack Sparrow, lit up the telecast of the WGC Match Play two weeks ago, when he came out of nowhere to move through to the finals and then pushed Jason Day to 23 holes with back-to-back ridiculous recovery shots. Given his nationality, his look, and the flare of that game, Dubuisson’s profile took off.

Now he’s getting wedges stamped by Titleist to commemorate those amazing shots in Marana, particularly the one that left pieces of a jumping teddy cholla cactus in his shoes and scattered all around the golf course.

Golf World's Johnson also added that the more than 200 dots were hand-stamped, which took over an hour to complete at the Titleist equipment truck down in Doral this week.

And in case you forgot, here’s the first of the miracle two-shot sequence that’s inspired such branding:

It sounds like we’ll be seeing Dubuisson on the American tour a bit more, but if he never does anything again, he’ll still be remembered for those two cactus balls.
