Fan runs off with Luke Donald’s golf ball at WGC-Cadillac Championships
Uhh, that probably belongs to someone.

Stepping back for a minute, it’s actually surprising that this doesn’t happen more at professional golf tournaments.
Luke Donald, currently tied for fifth and just one shot back of the leaders at the WGC-Cadillac Championship, sent his drive wayward right off the fairway at the 10th hole on Friday. It was not a good shot, but far from the occasional stroke that sends a ball off the reservation.
And yet, a spectator prancing up the cart path outside the ropes happened upon Donald’s ball and just decided to pick it up and go forward. There was no thought given to the fact that a golf ball was just found on a golf course in the middle of a golf round at a golf tournament. To compound the error, it appears the party who walked off with the ball is a tournament volunteer. This was one of those bizarre sequences we get each season:
If you happen to be walking around a golf course during a professional tournament and come upon a dimpled orb, that’s not an advisable step to take.
Fortunately, Donald did go on to make a par at the gettable par-5 10th. The former world No. 1 is definitely in the hunt as we start the weekend.
