Bubba Watson is the leader in the clubhouse at Doral, posting a 3-under to finish up his weekend in Miami. Watson went bogey-free over his last 27 holes at the all-new TPC Blue Monster, but that streak nearly came undone on his final hole of the day.
Bubba Watson’s cut does not cut, golf ball rockets into the 18th grandstand at Doral
Not the ideal ball flight on the 18th from Bubba, who’s in the clubhouse with the lead at the WGC-Cadillac Championship.

Over in the right rough with some palm tree trouble, Watson decided to go for the green with a dramatic cut shot around the trees and up to the green. It’s the kind of shotmaking we’re used to seeing Bubba make, most notably at the Masters and most recently with an amazing shot at No. 1 at Riviera. This ball, however, did not cut and sent some fans scrambling in the stands at the 18th:
Juuuuuuuuust a bit outside.
Bubba could quickly tell the ball was not cutting, as his mouth flew open with an “Ohhh shoot” that NBC cameras picked up in slo-mo
Bubba took his drop, chipped on and made his par to stay at 3-under, two shots back of Patrick Reed. With the leader hitting some shaky shots coming down the stretch, that number from Bubba might be good enough to get in a playoff.
