The week after the Masters can be a bit of a letdown following so much build up at Augusta National. A quality field at the RBC Heritage Open, however, will help alleviate some of the Masters withdrawals and a few players who came up just short of the green jacket will be among the field.
RBC Heritage 2014: Tee times, pairings for Thursday’s round
The Masters is in the rear view mirror, but play begins at the RBC Heritage Open on Thursday with a field full of notable names.

That includes 20-year-old Jordan Spieth, who will play the RBC for the second time after finishing ninth last year. He finished tied for second at the Masters, his best showing in a major championship. Spieth has been on the notable player radar for more than a year as he’s skyrocketed up the world rankings, but now he figures to receive even more attention. At least one of his playing partners may pay closer attention than anyone. Spieth is a very strong candidate to join the United States Ryder Cup team and he’ll get to audition first hand on Thursday, with U.S. Ryder Cup captain Tom Watson playing in Spieth’s pairing. The two will be joined by Davis Love III who captain the last U.S. Ryder Cup squad. Spieth is likely a lock for the American team regardless of how he plays on Thursday, but playing well alongside Watson certainly wouldn’t hurt his chances. The three are set to hit the course in the afternoon, going off the first tee at 12:40 p.m. ET.
Spieth isn’t the only player in the field coming off a solid showing at Augusta. Matt Kuchar finished in a tie for fifth in the Masters and will join Ernie Els and Hunter Mahan on Thursday. The three will tee off one group before Brandt Snedeker, Bill Haas and Graeme McDowell. McDowell missed the cut last week, but is the defending RBC champion. Other notable pairings include Zach Johnson playing with Harris English and Luke Donald while Patrick Reed will be joined by Russell Henley and Charl Schwartzel.
