The 2014 Zurich Classic tees of Thursday morning from TPC Louisiana, the PGA Tour’s annual stop in New Orleans that’s delivered late Sunday drama and decorated winners in each of the last three years. Bubba Watson, Jason Dufner, and Billy Horschel are the last three champions at this event, which typically produces a winning score around 20-under.
How to watch 2014 Zurich Classic online, TV schedule and more
The PGA Tour’s spring schedule swings down to New Orleans for the annual Zurich Classic. Here’s how to watch the opening round on Thursday.

The course does not have a ton of character -- it’s one of those monotonous TPC layouts we get so often. It’s long but yields a ton of birdies, so that provides lots of movement on the leaderboard, even on Sunday with just 18 holes to play. Perhaps the most identifiable part of the course is the wildlife, with most holes populated by enormous alligators (including one three-legged gator that held up play last year). It’s a market that the PGA Tour wants to be in and will continue to stay in, especially this time of year during the stretch between the Masters and the U.S. Open.
Golf Channel will have their customary coverage in the first round, coming on the air at 3 p.m. ET. Horschel will be out in the afternoon wave in the first round, playing with Rickie Fowler and Patrick Reed. That’s the marquee threesome through the first two days, and you can expect their every shot to be shown during the broadcast window. Rich Lerner and Peter Oosterhuis will have the call through the first two rounds. If you’re unable to watch on TV, Golf Channel will have their usual simulcast up and running on their Live Extra service. Here are your media options for the first round:
Thursday’s first round coverage:
Television: Golf Channel -- 3 to 6 p.m.
Online: Golf Live Extra -- 3 to 6 p.m.
Radio: PGA Tour Radio (Sirius-XM channel 208/93) -- 12 to 6 p.m.
