Although the field isn’t quite to the level of a major championship or even what it will be next week for the Players Championship, the Wells Fargo Championship field is one of the better fields of the year, possibly setting the stage for an entertaining second round on Friday. A handful of notable names will begin the day near the top of the leaderboard while a couple others will need good second rounds if they are going to ensure that they stick around for the weekend.
Wells Fargo Championship 2014 live stream: How to watch online, TV coverage and more
The Wells Fargo Championship leaderboard is loaded with big names, setting up a potentially eventful Friday at Quail Hollow. Viewers will be able to watch some of the action live with online and television coverage.

Phil Mickelson is among the leaders. He shot a 5-under round of 67 on Thursday and will begin the second round tied for second place, one stroke off the lead. Webb Simpson will begin the round two strokes off the lead, while Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose are among the players tied for seventh place at 3-under. Mickelson and Rose will tee off in the morning on Friday, so viewers won’t be able to see much of their rounds live. They can, however, catch two holes with a live featured hole stream from PGATour.com. The stream will cover the 10th and 17th holes, beginning at 8 a.m. Mickelson and Rose will play with Lee Westwood on Friday and the three are set to tee off on No. 10 at 8 a.m., so their opening hole should kick off the live stream.
Angel Cabrera -- who leads at 6-under -- McIlroy and others will tee off in the afternoon and likely be the focus of the television coverage. McIlroy will play alongside Rickie Fowler and Jonas Blixt, with the trio set to go off the first tee at 1:25 p.m. ET. Even with the late tee time, they will be a few holes into their rounds when live coverage begins on Golf Channel at 3 p.m. The coverage is scheduled to run for four hours, allowing viewers to watch a lot of the late action live. The coverage will also be available online thanks to a live simulcast from Golf LiveExtra.
In addition to the online and television coverage, viewers can follow the second round live with six hours of radio coverage from PGA Tour Radio. The network will broadcast from 1 p.m. ET to 7 p.m. Here is the full slate of media options for the second round of the Wells Fargo Championship:
