How to watch 2014 Memorial golf tournament online, TV schedule and more

The PGA Tour will make one of its best stops of the season this week and with it will come extra media coverage.

The PGA Tour heads to Muirfield Village for the Memorial Tournament this week. The event is consistently one of the best non-majors of the season, with most of the top players coming out to play in Jack’s tournament. A star-studded field attracts more attention and extended coverage. That will be the case on Thursday with more television and online coverage than usual.

The standard PGA Tour event draws three hours of live first-round television coverage. For the Memorial, Golf Channel will add an hour of live coverage and move things up slightly, with the broadcast scheduled to run from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. ET. Golf Channel's coverage will also be available online with a live simulcast stream available from Golf LiveExtra.

The coverage will allow viewers to watch the majority of the afternoon wave, which on Thursday will mean a pair of notable groups. Adam Scott and Rory McIlroy are both coming off wins, Scott on the PGA Tour and McIlroy on the European Tour. They will be paired together on Thursday, joined by Jason Day in what may be the must-watch group of the season so far. The three are set to go off the first tee at 1:16 p.m. ET. Scott and company will tee off one group after Phil Mickelson who will play with Jordan Spieth and Bill Haas. The two groups will likely be approaching the turn when television coverage begins.

In addition to the simulcast stream, viewers will also be able to watch some live golf online with a featured holes stream from PGATour.com. The all-day stream will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and feature the par-5 11th and the par-3 16th. With no early television coverage, it will be the viewers only chance to see many of the players in the morning wave play live.
