Jordan Spieth perfectly recreates miracle bunker shot on 1st attempt

Jordan Spieth was back in contention again on Sunday at the Memorial, another one of the PGA Tour’s more prestigious events. The 20-year-old couldn’t convert again in the final round, but one day later, he was in the Quad Cities region pulling off some magic at the John Deere Classic media day.

It was at that event last July that Spieth became the first teenager to win on the PGA Tour in more than 80 years. And he did it in the most dramatic way, holing out from a bunker on the 18th green. It was a closing birdie that would get him in a playoff he would quickly win over Zach Johnson and David Hearn.

These media days usually consist of a couple meet-and-greet sessions, a session with the local press, buttering up the sponsors and local dignitaries, and signing some autographs.

But Spieth and the folks at John Deere decided to go out to the 18th green and try to recreate that famous chip in from the greenside bunker. It didn’t take very long to come up with a replica:

That’s pretty damn cool. The tournament twitter account also maintains that it was the first attempt.
