While he may reside in Orlando full-time now, Ian Poulter is still one of the most recognizable English golfers in the world and this weekend he got the royal treatment at Wimbledon. Poulter, who was not playing in Washington, DC at Tiger Woods’ Quicken Loans National nor in Germany on the Euro Tour, had been tweeting all week about the upcoming date in the royal box at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club.

One of England’s most famous sportsmen takes in Wimbledon from the royal box, and as he always does with his car collection and other luxurious lifestyle items, made sure to share the experience with the peasantry on social media.

Poulter is perhaps golf’s most famous social media user, and of course, he’s become particularly proficient at using it as an outlet to document the lifestyle that we peasants only dream about. He put a few Instagram photos up from the day, including an encounter with David Beckham and the official tickets into the royal box.
Rafael Nadal, Maria Sharapova, and Roger Federer were all scheduled to play on Centre Court on Saturday. Poulter also tweeted a photo of his view.

In addition to Beckham, Matthew Fitzpatrick, the reigning U.S. Amateur champion and one of England’s top young prospects in golf, was also in the box next to Poulter. Fitzpatrick was the top amateur in the world until he turned pro last week at the Irish Open.
Poulter is expected to tee it up next at the Scottish Open, often a nice week of links prep work before the Open Championship one week later (July 17-20).
