Greenbrier Classic 2014: Tee times, TV schedule, and streaming for Saturday’s round

The Greenbrier is one of the most remote and scenic stops on the PGA Tour, and a solid leaderboard has emerged for the weekend in West Virginia.

Jon Durr

With the field now cut down, the Greenbrier Classic continues Saturday in the mountains of West Virginia, and a win by the man on top of the leaderboard at the 36-hole mark would provide one of the better stories of the golf season. Billy Hurley III is a former serviceman who attended Navy for college and fulfilled a post-graduate commission for five years that included a tour in the Persian Gulf. Hurley has made noise and popped up on leaderboards for over a year now, but a win would push his story to the front and be a nice way to end 4th of July weekend.

Hurley will tee off in the final pairing at 2 p.m. ET alongside Kevin Chappell, who is one stroke back at 8-under with Chris Stroud. Bubba Watson, the biggest name in the field and a part-time resident at Greenbrier, is also inside the top 10 at the midpoint. With almost 90 players still left in the field, the Tour will send them out early on Saturday, the first groups going off No. 1 at 7 a.m. ET.

Playing in the early groups will be John Daly, who made the cut after getting into the house at even-par through his first 36 holes. Daly made the weekend in his last PGA Tour start, the Travelers Championship, and continues to hang around on the Tour. He should be in action in two weeks at the Open Championship, where he has an exemption as a former winner until he’s 60 years old. He tees off on Saturday at 7:18 a.m. ET.

Golf Channel and CBS will tag team for their usual weekend coverage from White Sulphur Springs. The TV coverage beings at 1 p.m. ET, with Golf Channel running their broadcast until 2:30. There will be the customary half-hour break while the CBS crews and graphics get loaded in and before going on the air at 3 p.m. ET. Both networks will have livestream simulcasts running throughout the afternoon if you’re unable to watch on TV. Nick Faldo, who shot a 77 on Friday and missed the cut, should be back to his normal role and in the booth alongside Jim Nantz. Here are your coverage options for Saturday’s third round:
