By now, the adjectives have become redundant. Spellbinding, groundbreaking, searing, hilarious, thought-provoking, and occasionally, chilling. ESPN’s 30-for-30 series has already hit those benchmarks emphatically, so there’s no need to reiterate the accomplishments.

But then, the hits keep coming, so it’s tough not repeat the cycle all over again. On the eve of Steve Nash’s documentary premiere (Tuesday at 8), we now have the trailer for the forthcoming, Once Brothers, a look at the relationship between Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic, and the war that tore them apart.
And it looks great. Just as you’d expect. And Nash’s work has gotten raves just the same.
Basically, even as we begin to take the series for granted, the movies just keep getting better. It’s rare for any project with such a broad scope to match its audacious goals with execution, but particularly when we’re talking about a corporation as large and bureaucratic as ESPN. But again, we’ve been saying this for months, and here we are again. There’s not much to add then, except that the trailer above looks fantastic, and we should enjoy this while it lasts.
