Long Live Brian Dawkins

Brian Dawkins was one of those football players who just oozed unhinged badassery. He was never that flashy or that famous, but he offered a weekly reminder of why football (and football players) can be so totally awesome. As Bryan Armien Graham wrote at Sports Illustrated this week:

↵↵Dawkins was 210 pounds of fast-twitch muscles and industrial-grade menace, the hyperkinetic talent who tackled like a flying squirrel strapped with C4 and made Jim Johnson’s exotic blitz packages manifest, more than theory. He was a hell of a safety.

↵↵He retired this week, and it’s as good an excuse as any to spend the day watching highlight videos and remembering just how awesome Brian Dawkins was for the last decade.
