↵Jay-Z actually has a history with Calipari and these Wildcats. He visited Rupp Arena in December and watched Kentucky beat Louisville from his floor seat next to William Wesley, the outsize figure in basketball known as World Wide Wes, who was with him again Saturday. He also famously snapped a photo with the Wildcats in the locker room after they won the East Region of last year’s NCAA tournament in the Prudential Center, the Nets’ home arena. As it turns out, not even Jay-Z is above an NBA rule that prohibits team personnel from contacting college players. He was fined $50,000 and later made light of it as a five-figure slap on the wrist (in quite R-rated language) in a popular song on the album “Watch The Throne,” his 2011 collaboration with Kanye West. (The song’s name is not publishable in this venue, either.)
