Maryland Finals: Digital Harbor Pulls Away From Easton For 2A State Title.

After a close first half, Baltimore-area Digital Harbor pulled away from Easton in the fourth quarter for a 64-46 victory in the Maryland 2A state final at the Comcast Center in College Park Saturday evening.

The win for Digital Harbor (16-7) over Talbot County’s Easton (24-4), gives Baltimore-area schools three state titles in three attempts at this year’s Maryland state championships and Digital Harbor’s second in three years.

Chemistry didn’t happen easily for a Digital Harbor team loaded with transfers, but the team rebounded from a close second-round contest against Lake Clifton and won out easily.

In the final, four players scored between 14 and 17 points in a well-balanced attack. Junior forwards and cousins Nyme and Antonio Manns accounted for 30 of those points.

Easton kept it close in the first half, going into halftime with a 28-26 deficit and trailed by only three after the third quarter.

A Digital Harbor run in the fourth quarter helped the Rams pull away, eventually outscoring Easton 23-8 in the final frame, aided by a strong Ram defense.

Guard Jah’Sheme Ringgold lead Easton with 22 points, 16 in the first half.
