In Part 1, we saw the key play of the 1946 World Series, when the Red Sox and Cardinals met in anger for the first time. Twenty-one years later, the Sox and Cards met again, and once again St. Louis won in seven games. There wasn’t as much drama this time, though, as the Cardinals romped in Game 7, 7-2.

The hero, of course, was Bob Gibson, who started three games ... and gave up three runs in three complete games. Gibson pitched the opener and won, 2-1. He pitched a shutout in Game 4. And in Game 7 ... well, here’s Harry Caray with the call, via MLB Productions:
