The $300,000 Beauty

I’ve never heard Rogers Hornsby referred to as “The $300,000 Beauty” before. (Not to be confused with Lefty Grove becoming known as “The $100,000 Beauty” a year later.) It’s not listed as a nickname on Hornsby’s B-R page. Maybe it should be because it was on this poster from 1923 -- or maybe it shouldn’t be because it wasn’t in common usage.

The cost of an original of this poster would probably be more than a trip to the sun. Fortunately for the less fortunate, it exists in postcard form.
