Throughout the week, we have been presenting items that pertain to the three men who are to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this coming Sunday. Normally, we don’t feel compelled to this, but since the trio passed away a combined 256 years ago, our concern is that there won’t be enough people there to see them ushered in the door.

First up was Hank O’Day; then it was Deacon White’s turn - sort of. Jacob Ruppert got his shot yesterday and now we’re back to White again, legitimately this time. This is a reproduction of a period studio photo of White miming the fielding of a groundball - sans glove, as was custom at the time. By bending over, he leaves most of the image to a blank wall. I probably shouldn’t worry about such things, as it’s far too late to change them.
