Votto says he hears the mumbling of discontent about taking too many walks and not driving in a box car full of runs.

So in one respect, Votto has been completely average with runners on base. Which is counter-intuitive, at best. But it’s probably a fluke -- he’s never come that close to average before.
It explains the sentiment around the worst controversy in the history of sports. Maybe it’s just a silly controversy, then.
