Way back in the 1980s when Harry Caray was ailing, Bill Murray spent an entire game in the Wrigley Field broadcast booth. Murray set the bar pretty high for comedians in the booth. But it’s always fun when Jerry Seinfeld visits the Mets’ booth, and Tuesday night he was there for four whole innings. Here’s the best dozen-odd minutes, as selected by MLB.com. All dozen-odd minutes come with my mildly enthusiastic endorsement!
Tuesday night’s game about nothing

Most oddly? At the 4:40 mark, Seinfeld saying that until Tuesday, he’d never heard of Dr. James Andrews. He must have been kidding, right? Big baseball fan like him? Yeah, he must have been kidding. Either way, we can cut Jerry some big-time slack for injecting a great deal of baseball into our greatest sitcom.
It was fun having Jerry in the booth, especially with Keith Hernandez there, too. Granted, he’s no Denis Leary.
