Ron Cey, star third baseman of the 1970’s Dodgers, suffered from TSD, or Tiny Shin Disease. His knees were only four inches above his ankles, which made the simple act of running an awkward, Sisyphean ordeal. Yet he bravely soldiered on, even taking part in this televised 100-yard dash, which in retrospect seems like some sadistic network executive’s idea of a sick joke. They probably told him it was a charity event to raise money for TSD, the bastards.
