The Orioles release 60 years of media guides

In an inspired move celebrating their sixty years in Baltimore, the Orioles did a very cool thing today. The O’s have made available on their website digital copies of all sixty years of the club’s media guides. These aren’t just photos of each media guide cover. Fans can actually click on each guide and browse through them a page at a time.

Information about the club’s history, its front office, player biographies -- even team hotel information can be found for every year since 1954. Even better, the individual media guides can be downloaded in PDF form to be saved to your own computer.

This is a treasure chest for any fan of old baseball minutiae. Do you want to know how much ticket prices were at Memorial Stadium in 1967? Well, here you go!

The absolute best thing about this trove of media guides comes from 2005, though. I mean, get a load of this media guide cover.

That’s Miguel Tejada, Sammy Sosa, and Rafael Palmeiro gracing the cover. What a season that must have been!
