The 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials for Track & Field are set to begin Thursday as some of the country’s top athletes descend upon Eugene, Ore., where the Team USA roster for the 2012 Olympic Games will be decided.

For 2012, the trials return to Hayward Field, site of the Oregon Ducks’ track and field teams, and one of the most famous tracks in the country. It was the site of the ‘72, ‘76, ‘80 and ‘08 Olympic Trials, and hosts the yearly Prefontaine Classic.

The trials officially begin Friday, with an Opening Ceremony and the finals in the men’s and women’s 10,000m, but things technically get started the day before, with men’s and women’s hammer throw. Monday and Tuesday are rest days, and then things wrap up July 1, with Olympic berths decided for men’s and women’s 400m hurdles and the men’s 1500m and 200m, among other events. We’ll detail the can’t-miss events in full, but for now, go ahead and make the men’s 100m on Sunday night appointment viewing.

Here’s the complete U.S. Olympic Trials Track & Field schedule, via USA Track & Field (note: all times are Pacific; add three hours to figure out Eastern time):
