Team USA is playing its final U.S. tune-up for the 2012 London Olympics in the nation’s capital this Monday night. But it’s the foreigners who have had the run of the court so far at the Verizon Center, with Brazil taking a 27-17 lead after the first quarter.

USA Basketball's team of elite NBA players has been slow out of the gate on the evening, falling behind 17-9 and then squandering the momentum earned by back-to-back steals leading to lay-ups by Deron Williams and Russell Westbrook. The Americans were also cold from outside, missing all five of their three-pointers in the first period.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, both in attendance, did not seem overly worried about Team USA’s first-quarter deficit.
