Spain’s Olympic Uniforms Look Like Ketchup And Mustard Had A Terrible Fight

Spain’s Olympic uniforms were designed, for free, by Russian company Bosco. And, judging by the looks of the threads, the Spaniards got what they paid for.

Canoeist Saul Craviotto’s tweet, translated, says he’s trying on Olympic clothing, and that it’s better that he not comment and leave that to others, but his facial expression says plenty about the horrific shirt Don Johnson wouldn’t have been caught dead wearing in Miami in 1984.

On the (really painfully) bright side, the jacket, modeled here by Spanish field hockey player Alex Fabregas, is even worse. At least his smile (he says he doesn’t have enough adjectives) makes it look like he’s laughing with us.

If there’s a lesson to be learned from this, it is that outsourcing the fabrication of Olympic uniforms to Russia is probably a bad idea. Fabregas, apparently an auditor in his non-Olympic life, might want to check on whether the higher-ups really didn’t have the cash to spring for spiffier duds.
