Arndt finished 37th out of 40 cyclists who completed the women’s road race. Despite the distant finishing placement, she was only 59 seconds behind gold medalist Marianne Vos. Arndt’s final time was 3:36:28. She was in the hunt halfway through the race, but faded a bit in the second half.

Netherlands Women's Field Hockey - Marilyn Agliotti, Carlien Dirkse van den Heuvel, Maartje Paumen
Agliotti's Dutch team beat Belgium, 3-0, in their opening game. Agliotti didn't take any shots on goal. Paumen (the team's captain) and Dirkse van den Heuvel each took two corner penalty shots but didn't convert.

Raymond and doubles partner Liezel Huber got a bye past the first round, as the No. 1 seed in the women's doubles tournament.

Ina-Yoko Teutenberg, Germany, Cycling
Teutenberg just missed a spot on the medal podium, taking fourth place in the women's road race on Sunday. She finished just 27 seconds away from a medal in the 3+ hour race.
