Seimone Augustus, USA, Basketball
Augustus was the second-highest scorer on the team with 13 points in Team USA’s monster 90-38 victory over Angola. She also led the team in rebounds with 3. Team USA is now atop Group A at 2-0 with a +77 point differential.

Natalie Cook, Australia, Beach volleyball
Cook and her partner Tasmin Hinchley fell to 0-2 after falling to the Austrian team of Schwaiger and Schwaiger, 2-1. They will have to beat the Czech team in their final pool-play match to stay alive.

Imke Duplitzer, Germany, Fencing
Duplitzer won her first match in the Round of 64 of the women’s individual epee, beating Venezuela’s Maria Martinez, 15-10. However, Duplitzer was eliminated in her next match by the same score, at the hands of Sun Yujie of China. Yujie went on to take the bronze medal.

Karen Hultzer, South Africa, Archery
Hultzer was eliminated in the round of 32 by Italy’s Pia Lionetti. Hultzer came out publicly to Outsports later that day.

Alexandra Lacabere, France, Handball
Lacabere had one goal on two shots as France ended in a tie with Spain, 18-18. She also had one assist.

Mayssa Pessoa, Brazil, Handball
Pessoa had no stats in Brazil’s 27-25 victory over Montenegro. We could not confirm whether she played in the game.

Rikke Skov, Denmark, Handball
Skov had a sub-par game, scoring only one goal on six shots in Denmark’s loss to Korea, 25-24. No doubt she’ll be looking to bounce back with her team in the next match.
