Here’s what you need to know about San Diego State baseball.
San Diego State plays Halloween baseball game in costume
The San Diego State Aztecs and their Jamaican bobsled team might be your new favorite college baseball team.
1. They are coached by Tony Gwynn, and play in Tony Gwynn Stadium, creating the Bill Snyder Paradox.
2. Every year, they play a Halloween baseball game.
The Halloween baseball game is incredible.
(The Jamaican Bobsled team was, unsurprisingly, out at first despite hitting the ball to centerfield.)
I was going to go one-by-one and tell you about each costume I could identify, but it turns out the team's adventurous SID wrote probably the best press release in college sports history.
The Black Team came back with three runs in the bottom of the second. President Obama Seby Zavala got it started with a single, Ninja Cody Sos doubled, Leprechaun Andrew Brown bunt for a single and Redneck Spencer Thornton sacrificed the runners over. Boxer Tyler Adkison capped the inning with an RBI single. Cheerleader Justin Gheorghe skied to center to end the inning.
We need to make bobsled baseball a thing.
