The man they call “Coach O” hails the Spirit of Troy the old-fashioned way.


As the marching band’s official Twitter account noted on Wednesday night, Orgeron wrote a personalized, hand-addressed letter to every member of the band in anticipation of the Trojans’ big game on Saturday.

USC’s going to need the Coliseum at its loudest as No. 4 Stanford comes to town in a pivotal Pac-12 battle. Stanford may be favored by four points, but the Spirit of Troy now has the Spirit of Coach O coursing through its veins. A battle for the ages is coming, people.
