Maybe Tommy Hunter is on to something. After striking out Matt Davidson for the second out of the inning on Wednesday, the Orioles pitcher walked off the mound as if the inning were over while the on-deck batter watched.
That’s not the third out, Tommy Hunter
It was only the second out.

Hunter returned to the mound moments later, where he struck out Arizona’s Tuffy Gosewisch to officially end the inning, as if he didn’t know that result was already in the bag. Great psyche-out tactic there, Tommy Hunter. That’s some “Larry Bird pointing and walking away before his final three-pointer even falls” stuff.
