Jones played just four years in the NFL, his career flaming out amid low production and a string of drug incidents.

Former Arkansas and Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt told his CBS Sports Network colleagues the tale of Rodney, Jones’ alter ego based from a character his player had made up in a creative writing class:
Perhaps if the Jags had known they were selecting Matt Jones AND Rodney, they would have been a bit more hesitant to use their top draft selection on the eccentric QB.
