Amir Johnson’s offseason training partner: an elephant in Thailand

Hey, NBA players who haven’t spent the summer working out against elephants: step your game up.

Toronto Raptors big man Amir Johnson, judging from his Instagram, is in the southeast Asian nation of Thailand.

It seems he’s just there for a nice vacation, but somewhere along the line, he clearly got it in his head that the best way to improve his game for the upcoming season is by challenging elephants to various athletic activities.

First tug-of-war:

Then hoops, where even the 6'9 power forward is at a size disadvantage:

The elephant has raw power, but probably lacks post moves and doesn’t have much of a handle considering he has to dribble with his trunk.

It seems those competitions didn't go his way, so he tried to assert his dominance over a different member of the animal kingdom:

No matter how big your bicep is, Amir, I’m gonna take the tiger in this one.

But at the end of the day, he came out on top ... literally:
