Chip Kelly’s Eagles playcalling signs are very Philadelphia

Chip Kelly is restoring civic pride to the City of Brotherly Love, one goofy playcalling sign at a time.

Chip Kelly turned heads at Oregon for using playcalling signs with wacky images, so that his players could quickly look over to the sideline and pick up plays without having to huddle to keep his team’s pace frenetic. He’s apparently brought that system to the NFL with the Eagles, although with a Philly twist.

Yes, that’s Philly’s own, the Italian Stallion, and ... well ... Elvis isn’t Philly-related, but the Iggles also used the Phillie Phanatic on another placard.

Kelly changed it up week to week so people didn’t figure out his code at Oregon, which means we can look forward to cheesesteaks next week.
