Budweiser gives one soldier an unforgettable welcome

This ad, which will air during Super Bowl XLVIII, features Lt. Chuck Nadd returning home from service in Afghanistan to a surprise from his town of Winter Park, Fla. It’s pretty great.

This tweet, I think, sums everything up nicely.

Lt. Nadd talked to FOX in Orlando about the filming.

“It’s a real blessing to see how much everyone cares, because a lot of times, you’re in tough circumstances or you’re in situations where you don’t know if folks back home remember,” said Lt. Nadd. “Days like today show that everybody really does remember, and that means a lot. Like I said, there are so many folks who have given so much more than me. We just want to keep them in our thoughts and prayers, folks who are still back there, because they’re really the heroes.”

The ad was originally supposed to be 30 seconds, but Budweiser bumped it up to a full minute. If you’re interested, there’s a 5-minute video about the making of the spot, too.
