TV station doesn’t know the difference between Peyton Manning and Gary Payton

James Dator
James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.

We’d like to offer our heartfelt congratulations to Gary Payton for breaking the all-time NFL touchdown record on Sunday night. Nobody believed you could leave the NBA at age 39 and become a quarterback, but The Glove proved everyone wrong.

Now all that’s left is for Peyton Manning to retire from the NFL, buy an NBA team and become the point guard for the newly-moved Seattle Supersonics. Either that or we use advanced genetics to form the ultimate two-sport Hall of Fame player -- Peyton Payton.

Gary enjoyed it too.
