Swedish hockey player commits an all-time goof on empty net breakaway


That’s just heartbreaking stuff from Wednesday’s Brynas vs. Leksands game in the Swedish Hockey League. While shorthanded in the final minute of the third period, Leksands’ Johan Ryno had a breakaway and a chance to seal the deal. And then ... one of the all-time breakaway flubs.
Luckily for Leksands and Ryno, Brynas wasn’t able to score, despite earning several chances to do so in the 40 or so seconds after the above play. And don’t feel too bad for Ryno, either: He played a pretty strong game otherwise, compiling two assists and a team-high eight shots on goal. Could’ve been nine, though...
