Kobe on Nick Young’s injury: ‘You reach and you’ll get hurt’

It’s been well established that Nick Young suffered a broken thumb because he was trying to defend Kobe Bryant in practice. The injury, which will sideline Young for 6-8 weeks, is a blow for the Lakers. But because Young is now Kobe’s official whipping boy, we got this line from an interview with Rick Fox and Reggie Miller on NBATV’s “Real Training Camp.”
Kobe followed the joke up with a serious answer about how Young needs to use his time productively so he’s ready to jump back into the fold once he’s healthy. Still: long live the Kobe-Young relationship.
