THEY BLINDED THEM WITH SCIENCE(S!)

The University of the Sciences -- THE UNIVERSITY OF THE SCIENCES!!!! -- beat Drexel, 54-52, on Thursday night, with Garret Kerr drilling a go-ahead three with two seconds to go to give the Division II Devils the win over the Dragons.

Kerr was the star for the Devils, posting 27 points and 10 rebounds, including the game-winning three. Believe it or not, that’s pretty much average -- the 2014 All-American averages 24.3 points per game and 13.3 rebounds per game, 10th and 2nd in Division II, respectively.

Entering Thursday night, Division I teams were 226-0 at home non-Division I teams. In 35 of those games, the Division I team scored twice as many points as the non-Division I team. If you include road games, DI teams were 232-1 -- Rice lost at Alaska-Anchorage as part of the Great Alaska Shootout. You might remember Memphis' loss to Christian Brothers Academy a few months ago, but that was in an exhibition game.

If you’ve never heard of University of the Sciences: They’re very much a real school, and very involved in sciences. It’s pretty literally down the street from Drexel -- hence all the cheering Sciences fans at the game -- and has a 200-year history of pharmaceutical advances. You need to know two things about their basketball team:

1. Garret Kerr is very good

2. THEY HAVE PLAYERS NAME SHO DA-SILVA AND FLO DA-SILVA.

Yes, they are brothers, and their actual names are Shofolarin and Shofolohan.

3. Their devil is really cool! Look at those shades!

So wait, is science the devil?

For a Drexel perspective:
