Let this be a lesson in why you shouldn’t try to take photos with wild animals.

Nebraska defensive end Jack Gangwish has a new injury, but it didn’t happen on the field. Now he sports a pretty impressive gash on his leg caused by a raccoon he tried to take a selfie with. According to the Journal Star he saw it on the side of the rode and wanted to hop out to get a picture.

— Jack Gangwish (@jackgangwish) December 4, 2014 It didn’t end well for the raccoon, sadly. Gangwish realized he needed to have it tested for rabies and ended up killing the animal with a wrench. He wanted to subdue it, but did a little more than that. Just another lesson that selfies can be deadly.
