Cyclist gets hit by truck, somehow lands on mattress

Imagine you’re a cyclist, cycling along like it’s nobody’s business and you get hit by a truck. “That’s horrible, deplorable. What did you make me think of that?” you might ask. Well, now imagine you’re cycling, hit by a truck and happen to land on a mattress that fell off said truck.

Is that a net gain, a loss? Either way we don’t blame this rider for sitting on the mattress for a while, completely confused at what the heck happened.
