Time tells the tale of a group of thieves pretending to be customers at bars in the local red light district. Their ruse is pretty simple: wait for men to get drunk, flirt with them and sometimes offer sex, before stealing their possessions.
One unfortunate man was thrown into a trash can by the women when he started struggling after realizing he was getting mugged. Another man, an Australian, had about $1,300 stolen when he took three African women to his hotel room after getting drunk with them in a bar.
It’s unclear how many men have been robbed in this fashion due to crimes going unreported to police. Understandable really. No, it’s not because of some macho embarrassment at getting robbed by women, it’s because who really wants to tell the police they were foolish enough to believe women are roaming Hong Kong and offering them sex because they thought they really liked their personalities.
