If you’ve been following Onions! you’re aware that a lot of early conference tournament play in low major college basketball is not televised. That’s fine, though, because it’s 2014, and almost every tournament game that isn’t on actual TV is streamed. This is nice, since games are during the day, and people are working instead of leaving their jobs to watch Winthrop play basketball in Myrtle Beach, either in person or in front of a TV.
Here’s a fun thing about Conference Tournament online streaming
If you’re watching college basketball online, you can be a part of the action! We hope you’re not a jerk, like us. #YearOfThePony

Even nicer: these leagues tend to use a stream function that displays a Twitter stream on the side of the screen. It shows tweets that say, for the Horizon League, #HLMBB, or for the Big South, #BigSouthMBB. It’s actually quite neat. It allows people to chime into the conversation:
Most of the people who use the feature are honest-to-goodness fans. However, jerks like Rodger Sherman abused the feature.
He isn’t alone, though:
At this point I started feeling a little bit bad. Look at how genuine all the fans are, and look at how Ginuwine we are. My job is running a social media account, and I have to put up with doofuses/doofi. And now here I was, being the doofus for a social media person at the Big South.
But I didn’t cast the finishing blow, of getting the word “Horny” on the screen:
And now I feel bad:
I’m so sorry #BigSouthMBB RT @BigSouthSports Let's keep it clean/on topic so the BSN feed sticks to #MyrtleBeachMadness, not...whatever else
— Rodger Sherman (@rodger_sherman) March 5, 2014 From now on, I will keep it to jokes like this:
I like the way you work it / Go Liberty / Come on and beat Winthrop #BigSouthMBB
