One of our favorite things to do is wait for a player to have a preposterously great game, then PhotoShop some fireflames into their hands, like so:
Watch somebody dunk with a ball that’s on fire
He’s on fire! NO, REALLY, HE’S ON FIRE! OH NO THIS GUY IS ON FIRE MAKE HIM STOP PLAYING BASKETBALL

— SB Nation (@sbnation) March 4, 2014 Despite this, and despite all our NBA Jam playing, we'd never actually wondered about the effects of an actual ball on fire would have on a rim.
Luckily, there’s Kenny Dobbs, a... professional... dunker?, who is trying to sell tapes teaching people how to dunk like him. To promote that, he dunked over this dude who was lit on fire and holding a ball on fire.
Dobbs showed us that the net absolutely DISAPPEARS:
Of course, our internet instincts made us immediately wonder whether this was legit, and it appears to be: they put out a “behind-the-scenes” video showing them lighting this dude in flame-retardant clothes on fire, then a bunch of dudes with fire extinguishers running in.
Ridiculous/awesome.
The rim doesn’t exactly hold up like it does in NBA Jam.
