Lightning’s playoff anthem will get you surprisingly turnt up

Alright, you convinced us... we’ll give you the cup.

James Dator
James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.

Playoff songs are mostly terrible. They distill the emotion and action from an entire season by trivializing them into a three minute parody video that rarely does credit to the original work or the organization.

That said, the Tampa Bay Lightning’s effort to re-work “Turn Down for What” is kind of okay in our books. The rhyme works well, somehow the name “Stamkos” didn’t affect the song’s flow and you get extra marks any time you can get local cops involved.

We give it an esteemed grade of four Lil’ Jons out of five.
