— Corinthians Paulista (@Corinthians) April 28, 2014 Brazilian soccer team makes anti-racism statement
Throwing a banana at Dani Alves was only the beginning.

The Blazers wore black socks, the Clippers turned their warm-up uniforms inside-out and soccer is witnessing its own gestures of solidarity against racism.
Corinthians play in in the Brasileirão and heard about the banana thrown at the feet of Dani Alves, intended as a racial slur against the back for Barcelona. Corinthians’ message is simple “Somos todos macacos,” which translates to “We are all monkeys.”
More teams and players are standing up. They’re sending messages of support, taking photos holding bananas and joining the message that we’re all monkeys.
Well played everyone.
