Watch softball players carry injured opponent following home run

Sports injuries happen, the reaction is rare.

What would you do if an opponent got hurt in front of you? Maybe you take a knee or hope they’re okay, but two softball players in Florida went one step further by carrying a hitter around the bases after she hit a home run.

Kara Oberer of Ekerd College was reduced to tears when he knee locked up following a home run. Instead of pausing the game and waiting for medics to look at the player, her opponents wanted her to be able to score on her hit. Pitcher Chelsea Oglevie and her catcher quickly picked up Oberer and ensured she’d score what ended up being the game-winning runs.
