Joey Votto celebrates Canadian culture, by dressing up like a mountie

Joey Votto is the first baseman for the Cincinnati Reds, but more importantly he’s a Canadian -- a proud, dyed-in-the-wool Canadian. When he was asked to appear on “International Talk” there was only one way to adequately represent his culture, dressing up like a mountie and giving a deadpan interview while talking about his horse, “Nibbles.”

The whole mountie thing is chuckle-worthy in its own right, but kudos to Votto for totally embracing his character. It left the hosts completely befuddled and unable to interview him without laughing between questions and basically turning the thing into a game of “20 questions” akin to a Halloween meeting between an adult and a costumed child on Halloween.

The Reds seemed confused by the whole thing.
